NATHAN KORANDA, DNP, PMHNP-BC
EXECUITIVE DIRECTOR, CO-FOUNDER

Dr. Nathan Koranda started his career as a paramedic in a busy 911 service. He is currently an international mental health educator and works at an organization that provides specialized psychiatric services for all ages in the Twin Cities. Dr. Koranda is certified in ACLS, PHTLS, and completed his Doctor of Nursing Practice degree at the University of Minnesota with a focus on psychiatric mental health. He is responsible for EMS and mental health education content creation, program oversight, and management for KOPI.

Peter Mabula, MD, MMED
Director

Dr. Mabula is instrumental in the improvement of emergency medicine and prehospital emergency response in Arusha, Tanzania. He has served in numerous capacities including the Chief of Emergency Medicine & Chair of the Disaster Management Committee. Dr. Mabula’s knowledge of Arusha and commitment to its people are invaluable to KOPI and its mission.

STEPHEN DUNLOP, MD, MPH, FACEP, CTROPMED
CHAIRMAN OF THE BOARD, CHIEF MEDICAL OFFICER, DIRECTOR

Dr. Stephen Dunlop has board training in Emergency Medicine with a special interest in Immigrant Health and Acute Care Systems development and epidemiologic burdens of disease across the globe. It was Dr. Dunlop’s work in Arusha over the last decade that helped give rise to KOPI. His input has been crucial to our success. Dr. Dunlop serves as the Chairman of the Board and as KOPI’s Chief Medical Officer. His experience and guidance help shape KOPI’s vision, content, and direction.

Rupa Joshi, Phd, MSW, PGDCCP, PGDGC
Director

Dr. Joshi is a psychologist located in Arusha, Tanzania. She provides some of the only mental health support in the region. Dr. Joshi has been working in Arusha for over a decade improving the delivery model of mental health care through organizations like Arusha Lutheran Medical Centre and The Arusha Mental Health Trust. Dr. Joshi’s excellent clinical skills and compassion are crucial to KOPI’s mental health initiatives.

ARAVIND RAGHU, JD
SECRETARY, DIRECTOR

Aravind Raghu is a vice president and compliance officer at Fifth Third Bank. The businesses he supports include various areas of the bank including capital markets and community development. He has been a compliance professional in the financial services industry for the past eight years. Prior to this Aravind was an in-house counsel engaged in various commercial litigation and corporate attorney work. He is a member of the Illinois bar and resides in the Chicagoland area.

Bridgette Springer, M.S.Ed.
Director

Bridgette is a M.S.Ed. graduate with six years of international development experience in program management, communications, and teaching. She has full professional proficiency in Spanish backed by fieldwork throughout Latin America and the Caribbean. Bridgette’s skill at making cross-cultural connections, breaking down complex information, leadership, and passion for education, development, and women’s empowerment add so much to KOPI’s mission and programs.
